Heavenly Army, Doraon dorai_ By Ooahan JS

Right now, I feel utterly miserable.
Who could possibly understand my suffering?

A god—no, a celestial soldier—stripped of his dignity, lying stark naked in a filthy, cramped one-room apartment.
Who could possibly comprehend what that feels like?

My name is Orang. I am a soldier of the Seven-Star Celestial Army.

Once upon a time, I served as a royal guard to the Jade Emperor himself—the supreme ruler of the celestial realm. My duty was to protect him and his family. But thanks to my superior’s blunder, I was demoted and reassigned to the Seven-Star Army.

Falling from the highest position to the lowest… at first, I was so devastated I couldn’t even speak about it.
Living in luxury at the emperor’s side one day, only to be thrown into a world where I had to fend for myself the next—it was beyond cruel. It was pure hell.

…No, I can’t go on. The tears are threatening to fall. Let’s leave the past where it belongs.

I hold nothing but resentment toward my former commander.

“You’ve been assigned a special mission.”
“Another monster in the Middle Realm? They’ve been appearing too frequently lately. It’s all because of him, isn’t it?”
“That’s why you’ve been chosen for this mission.”
“Just give the order. Whether it’s an egg-headed ghost or a vengeful spirit, I’ll take them all down. For the glory of the heavens!”
“You’ll be going to the human realm.”

That was the moment I saw my life flash before my eyes.

Go to the human world? That was the same as being sent to hell.

You mortals may not realize it, but the term “human realm” is just a polite way of saying hell.

At the dawn of time, the Almighty One created the universe, dividing it into three realms: Heaven, the Middle Realm, and the Human Realm.

Yes, you guessed it. The heaven and hell of human religions? That’s us.
Heaven and hell aren’t separate places—they’re already here.

Humans believe in some other distant hell, unable to recognize that they’re already living in it.
It’s a secret the celestial realm keeps hidden, but the truth is: the human world is hell.

Even Tolkien hinted at it in The Lord of the Rings—the elves, the Middle Realm, and the world of men. Those weren’t just made-up concepts.

Now, I know some of you are thinking:
“What? This world isn’t so bad. How can it be hell?”

But I assure you—it is.

Our Father, the Almighty, created the human world as a place of punishment for fallen souls.
He gave mortals frail, perishable bodies, forcing them to learn love and faith through suffering.
This world is nothing more than a correctional facility for wayward spirits.

Knowing all this, do you think I wanted to come here?

The moment I was sent to this godforsaken place, the only thing I felt was rage—rage toward the woman sleeping in that bed.

The one who brought me here.

And this cage she calls home? Unbelievable.
A room so tiny, it’s smaller than the chicken coop in my celestial garden.

I was stunned.
A human living worse than my poultry?

If this wasn’t an alien world, I didn’t know what was.

And the filth—oh, the filth!

The moment I teleported in, I tripped over something and nearly fell.
I looked down—it was a food tray.

In the middle of it, a massive bowl with a spoon sticking out like some kind of offering to the gods.
Scattered around it were torn wrappers, the remains of some long-forgotten meal.

I turned my gaze to the rest of the room.

Instead of a wardrobe, there was a clothing rack, a chaotic mess of summer and winter outfits hanging side by side like their owner had no concept of seasons.
A massive box sat in the corner, stuffed with piles of vitamins and supplements, as if hoarding them would compensate for an otherwise unhealthy lifestyle.

For someone like me—who values order and cleanliness—this place was a nightmare.
Even the celestial pigsty was cleaner than this.

I sighed.
Where did it all go wrong?

It hadn’t even been a full minute since I arrived, and I was already homesick for the celestial realm.
I cursed the Jade Emperor for sending me here.

That man… the supreme ruler of the heavens.
The one who reigns over all three realms—Heaven, the Middle Realm, and the human world.

“I refuse to go.”
“You were personally chosen.”
“By who?”
“The Jade Emperor himself.”
“…!”
“He even promised that if you complete this mission, you’ll be reinstated as a royal guard.”
“…I accept.”

The offer was too tempting to refuse.
The chance to reclaim my former glory? I would endure hell itself for that.

But now that I’m here… maybe being a soldier wasn’t so bad after all.

You’re probably wondering, what was the Jade Emperor’s mission?

It has everything to do with the woman currently sleeping and stuffing her face in bed.

A high-level criminal from the celestial realm.
A fallen princess.

Her name is Eorin.

No, “Eorin” doesn’t mean “young”—it’s just her actual name.

“Here’s the princess’s profile.”
“Lee Seomin. Age: 30. Height: 162 cm… Wait. 162?! She’s a dwarf! How did she reincarnate into this tiny body?”
“No idea. But it’s the will of the Emperor.”
“The will of the Emperor? If she’s his precious daughter, couldn’t he at least give her a goddess-tier body?”
“She’s a criminal. This form is probably part of her punishment.”

I shook my head.

The Jade Emperor’s decisions will never cease to baffle me.
