Families have a strong tendency to trust and rely on each other, embracing both strengths and weaknesses. This fundamental characteristic extends to communities, fostering mutual altruism among their members. In particular, the parental role within a family often expands to the broader community, encouraging individuals to act selflessly for the sake of others.
These communities eventually form a nation. Citizens within a nation endure and sacrifice based on their collective consciousness and unconscious bonds of solidarity. This is not merely an individual choice but a result of conscious and unconscious motivations aimed at a better future and long-term prosperity.
People with a strong sense of community tend to be patriotic. This is because they do not see the nation as merely an administrative entity but as an extension of their own identity. However, due to this characteristic, communities often develop an exclusionary attitude toward outsiders.
Patriotism strengthens communal bonds, but it must not be manipulated by individuals or specific groups for their own benefit. Patriotism should ultimately serve the interests of the entire community rather than becoming a tool for exclusive gains.
If outsiders wish to share in the benefits of a community, they must first demonstrate humility and respect. A society built on mutual recognition and shared values will be able to achieve true prosperity and harmony.
